Chairman’s Report 2022

CHAIRMAN’S REPORT – March 2022

I am sure that, like me, you will be happy that life is returning to normality and we are restarting face-to-face lectures and have a Day Visit to Lincoln to look forward to in April.*

2021 was another challenging year for everyone.  Throughout the past year I have been supported by an amazing Committee who have worked hard to ensure that lectures continued, albeit via Zoom.  I am aware that not all members were able to access lectures this way and I thank those of you who paid their subscriptions despite this.  Although we saved a little on travel and venue expenses, the lecturers’ fees were not reduced and had to be covered.  The monthly emailed lectures from London have been a real treat, which hopefully the majority of you have enjoyed.  At present we are continuing to receive these and may do so for some time to come.

Lynda has booked an exciting and varied series of lectures for this year.  We appeal to you all to spread the word and to bring along guests as numbers are worryingly low.  It would be a great shame if in 2023 we cannot continue to provide such top quality lectures on our doorstep.

I owe a huge debt of gratitude to my Committee who have been so supportive over my past five years in the Chair.  As I step down, I am concerned that nobody has yet come forward to fill this role which is essential to the proper functioning of the Society.  Please seriously consider putting your name forward in any capacity.
Thank you all for your continued support.
