I trust that you have enjoyed the Christmas celebrations and on behalf of the Committee I wish you all a Happy New Year (with a return to normal service at the top of my wish list).
Shortly before Christmas the University regretfully informed us that they are suspending room hire for January and possibly February so therefore the pre lecture get together and live lecture we had planned for January will now not be able to take place and instead the January and February lectures will take place via Zoom. We understand that you will be as disappointed about this as are the Committee. Please be assured that we will return to face to face lectures as soon as it is possible and that we are seriously looking into an alternative venue if the University is still suspending room hire by March, by which time hopefully larger indoor gatherings can safely take place. As before you will be sent a Zoom link a few days prior to the lectures that will start at 7.30pm as usual.
We will keep you updated as the situation develops but in the meantime we appeal to all members to renew their membership subscriptions in January as this is vital to the survival of our Society. Plans for the April Day Visit to Lincoln are near completion and we are currently considering the viability of organizing a 3/4 day Away Visit and a Study Day as in previous years. We will let you have details of the Lincoln visit in the near future.
